Solitaire: free to play in your browser
Solitaire is the classic Klondike card game, the one most people simply call solitaire, played here with glowing neon cards. Deal, build down the seven columns in alternating colours, and move every card up to the four foundations from Ace to King.
Tap a card and it jumps to the best place it can go, or drag cards yourself if you prefer. There's unlimited undo, a hint button for when you're stuck, and once every card is face up the AUTO button finishes the game for you, with the classic bouncing-cards celebration when you win.
How to play
- Choose Draw 1 (one card from the deck at a time) or Draw 3 (three at a time, the classic challenge).
- Move cards onto the seven columns in descending order, alternating red and black: a black 9 goes on a red 10.
- Only a King can go into an empty column. You can move a whole run of face-up cards at once.
- When you move the last face-up card off a column, the card underneath turns over.
- Tap the deck to draw. When it runs out, tap it again to turn the used cards back over.
- Build each suit on the four foundations at the top, from Ace up to King. Get all 52 cards there to win.
Game modes
- Draw 1
- One card at a time from the deck. Most deals can be won, which makes it a relaxing game.
- Draw 3
- Three cards at a time, and you can only play the top one. Harder, and closer to old-school solitaire.
Tips
- Turning over face-down cards in the columns matters more than anything else. Choose the move that reveals a new card.
- Don't empty a column unless you have a King ready to move into it.
- Be careful moving cards up to the foundations too early: a low card in the foundation can't be used to hold the next card down.
- Stuck? Press HINT and the best move lights up.
Questions
Is this the same as Windows solitaire?
It's the same game, Klondike, with the same rules. The cards and look are our own neon design.
Can I undo a move?
Yes, as many times as you like. Press UNDO, Z on a keyboard or Y on a controller.
Can every game be won?
No. Like real solitaire, some deals can't be solved. Draw 1 games are won much more often than Draw 3.
Does it work with a controller?
Yes. Move between piles with the stick or d-pad, press A to pick up and A again to drop, and B to draw from the deck.
