Word Guess: free to play in your browser
Word Guess is a five-letter word puzzle. You have six tries to find the hidden word. After every guess, each letter lights up to show how close you are: cyan means the right letter in the right spot, yellow means the letter is in the word but somewhere else, and dark means it isn't in the word at all.
Play the Daily Word, which is the same for everyone and changes at midnight, and build up a winning streak. Or switch to Endless and play as many words as you like.
How to play
- Choose Daily Word or Endless.
- Type a real five-letter word and press Enter, or tap the on-screen keyboard.
- Cyan tiles are the right letter in the right place. Yellow tiles are in the word but in a different place. Dark tiles aren't in the word.
- Use what you've learned to make your next guess. The keyboard colours keep track of which letters you've used.
- Find the word within six guesses to win.
Game modes
- Daily Word
- One word a day, the same for everyone. Win on consecutive days to build your streak.
- Endless
- A fresh random word every round, as many times as you like.
Tips
- Start with a word full of common letters, such as CRANE, SLATE or ROUTE.
- Letters can appear twice. If you're stuck, a double letter is often the answer.
- Use your second guess to try new letters rather than reusing ones you know are wrong.

When does the daily word change?
At midnight on your device, so it's the next day's word as soon as your clock ticks over.
Why was my guess rejected?
Guesses have to be real five-letter English words from our word list.
Can I play more than one word a day?
Yes. The Daily Word is once a day, but Endless mode has as many words as you want.
