Grid Raiders is a neon shoot-'em-up where waves of geometric drones fly in, form up across the top of the screen and dive-bomb your ship. Clear every drone to finish a wave, grab power-ups as they fall, and every fifth wave face a carrier boss with wing turrets guarding its core.

Play solo and chase a high score, or team up in two-player co-op on the same screen. Co-op pilots share five lives, and if your wingmate goes down you can fly through their rescue beacon to bring them back and win the life back.

How to play

1. Choose 1 Player or 2 Player Co-op.
2. Fly with the stick, d-pad, WASD or the arrow keys. You can move left, right and a short way up and down.
3. Hold A or B on a controller, Space for player 1 or Enter for player 2, to fire.
4. Destroy every drone to clear the wave and earn a bonus.
5. Catch falling power-ups: S gives a spread shot, R rapid fire, and the shield absorbs one hit.
6. On boss waves, destroy both wing turrets first to expose the core, then shoot the core.

Game modes

1 Player

Solo run with five lives. A hit costs a life and your ship returns after a short pause.

2 Player Co-op

Two ships, five shared lives and one team score. Fly through a downed partner's beacon to revive them for 500 points, and get the life back if you reach them before they respawn.

Tips

• Shoot drones while they are diving: they are worth double points.
• The purple hexagon drones at the top take extra hits and often bring a wingman when they dive. Clear them early.
• Spread and rapid fire last 12 seconds each, and losing a life removes them, so play safe while powered up.
• The boss core is shielded while either wing turret survives. Focus on one wing at a time; each is worth 3,000 points.
• Once both wings are gone the carrier enters a faster rage phase, so keep moving.
